We have made it to the last week of school! Can you believe it? These last few weeks have seemed both so long and so short at the same time. No matter how slow of fast is has gone, just know how proud I am of you! On-line distance learning was nothing we were trained for, but we made it work! Thank you for all of your hard work!! 8th Grade Religion: 2 Letters of Joy due Tuesday 2pm If you had Mrs. Brown for a teacher, please send her a thoughtful email thanking her for being a teacher and congratulating her on her retirement. Mrs. Brown is retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. Brown's email: [email protected] and please copy me [email protected] so I can give you credit for your email. Write a letter of joy to any IC teacher who made a big impact in your life! Thank them for all they did! You may email the teacher if they are still at IC (copy [email protected] for credit) If you would like to write to a teacher who has retired, Mrs. Nanneman and I can help deliver your letters. Just let us know! If you are not writing to Mrs. Brown, then please choose 2 teachers for the letters of joy. Each student should write a total of 2 letters (unless you would like to write more!)
7th ELA: Today and tomorrow are work days for your Poetry Portfolio slide show presentations. I will re-post my Loom video that goes over the rubric for the Poetry Portfolio Project. I will NOT post a turn in site for this project until Wednesday morning. The reason for this is that I want you working BOTH days finding ways to make your presentation even better. Your Poetry Portfolio Project is not due until Thursday, May 14th. Keep in mind we will have other assignments on Wednesday and Thursday, so use Monday and Tuesday to your advantage. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. 8th Grade ELA: Today we are going to learn about Superlatives. So what is a superlative? A superlative is the form of an adjective or an adverb used to compare three or more things. The superlative form of an adjective is used to show something has a quality to the greatest or least degree. The superlative form of an adverb is used to show something has performed an action to the greatest or least degree. In the example below Best and Strongest are superlatives. Example: Good, Better, Best or Strong, Stronger, Strongest. I am posting a You-tube video to help you better understand comparatives and superlatives. ASSIGNMENT: I have posted "Silly Superlatives" in Classroom, along with an 8th grade student list. Make sure to use each student in the superlative worksheet. You will have a few superlatives that you will not use since we have 48 students and there are 56 spots for superlatives. Have fun with this. Once you are finished, post in Classroom.
